Contract disputes

There are five phases to dispute resolution, including a dispute over a contract:

  1. Understand the dispute, including the understanding my dispute checklist
  2. Discuss the dispute with the other party
  3. Write to the other party
  4. Alternative dispute resolution, Dispute Support can help you to quick and easily identify the most appropriate low cost dispute resolution service for your dispute
  5. Court. Going to court should be the option of last resort – it is expensive, emotionally stressful and time consuming.

If the issues are complicated or you are owed a significant amount of money you should also seek legal advice. For information on where to find a solicitor or legal professional visit the Legal Assistance page.
